Kuala Lumpur to Host Russia-ASEAN Forum and Boosting Economic Collaboration

More than 250 high-ranking officials, business leaders, and industry association representatives will participate in the “World of Opportunities: Russia-ASEAN” International Business Forum being held on November 26-27 in Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The Roscongress Foundation organizes the forum with the goal of deepening economic and strategic cooperation between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) while focusing on action-oriented partnerships for regional growth.

This forum will continue recent diplomatic efforts following Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussing the matter during the 9th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The future forum will focus on which solutions to global problems are met through cooperation in fields most important for socio-economic development: from finance and high technology to agriculture and tourism.

We aim to make it an effective business platform for Russian and foreign business people. With ‘World of Opportunities,’ we’re opening the doors of Russia to our partners from abroad, contributing to economic growth, said Alexander Stuglev, Head of the Roscongress Foundation. Prominent Malaysian and Russian figures and leaders from ASEAN member states will participate in the high-profile discussion program to broaden business cooperation between the two parties.

Participants will engage in a diverse range of discussions, exploring avenues in finance, oil and gas, technology, information security, education, and agriculture. The emphasis will be on agricultural cooperation, ensuring food security and fertilizer supplies while also unlocking opportunities in developing agriculture technology.

Forums like this are critical to furthering trade and investment relations between Russia and ASEAN. It offers tremendous scope to solidify partnerships across borders, which, through innovation, blossom into positive growth.
